Spring Plants Are Growing! What do you see?

On a meandering hike last Saturday that led us three miles through woods and along a river bank, I saw nettle everywhere. I was able to harvest a few young tops with bare fingers (I enjoy the slight sting) for tea. Anyone else wildharvesting? What plants are growing near you?

I haven’t been able to really hike because of the on again/off again snow, however Nettle, Mugwort, and Rue are all starting to poke their heads out!

I went on two hikes this weekend and saw so many Spring ephemerals: Nettle, Motherwort, Dandelion, Ramps, Creeping Charley, Wild lettuce, Mullein, Burdock, the wild black raspberries have leaves, Bloodroot, Trout lily, Dutchman’s Breeches, Violet, Wind flower and False Rue Anemone and perhaps others I’m forgetting. I was giddy!

SO many!! We’re about to get 5th Winter this week. :/
